Will there be pre-release events?
Because of the synchronized global launch, no traditional pre-release event has been announced (those usually stagger by region). Expect it to simply go on sale everywhere on the 16th.
Why the date matters
The set marks 30 years of the Pokémon Trading Card Game (first released in Japan in October 1996), so The Pokémon Company is treating it as a worldwide anniversary moment rather than a normal staggered set.
