Pitch Black (set code ME05) went on sale worldwide on July 17, 2026. It's the fifth main expansion of the Mega Evolution Series; Chaos Rising, in May 2026, was the one before it.
The pre-release window
Anyone who went to a pre-release opened it nearly a fortnight early. Pokémon sold Build & Battle Boxes at select Play! Pokémon stores from July 4, 2026, ahead of the July 17 street date.
What comes after Pitch Black
Pitch Black opened a busy second half of 2026. The all-foil 30th Celebration set follows on September 16, and Mega Evolution — Delta Reign (Mega Rayquaza ex) closes the year on November 6.
